Ok lately I've been noticing this little link at the top of the page that says this link goes nowhere, what is this link about? Is this something new that got added to the site?

Post 2 by Harp (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Saturday, 13-Jan-2007 23:15:04

It's just Admin's twisted idea of a joke. Between you and I, the guy is a little soft between the ears if you know what I mean. If you see him around, Avoid at all costs.

Dan.

It made me laugh the first time, but now it's just gay. Admins way of trying to be funny!

I thought it was weird, but I don't ever go on those links, so i just more or less passed it on by and just ignored it. In any case, i'd bne afraid to clink on a link that said this link goes nowhere, but still reads as a link. Justr thought someone was clowning around with the links, .

Damn! And I had this entirely logical explanation plotted out in my mind about how no one had paid for that particular slot in the add rotation... And now...a joke? Ah, zoners, say it ain't so! My fragile grip on reality...oh, the humanity!

Guess I'd better hit 'reply;' I hear the men in white coats outside my door.

Jim, don't be so hasty my friend.

Actually, it's a little known fact that some who click on that link (pressing enter has the same effect, so don't try to avoid it that way) are taken to a land of adventure where goblins and elves as well as a few buckeye fans cavort delicately with one another. In this wondrous land, some adventurers are lost forever, doomed to wander blindly through the caverns and mazes of zone land.

Others, so it is reported, go through the land playing mindless but not pointless games, thus amassing huge treasures and points good for there egos.

Others find joy in participating in elven song fests becoming icons of mystical stature.

Some who seem to follow the life of scribes are destined to converse endlessly and tirelessly on any and all subjects with one another, "full of sound and fury but signifying nothing."

Those who seem to be on ego trips are awarded stati…well maybe it's…statuses as community leaders, where they are granted wizzards-in-training caps and given mindless tasks to perform.

Finally, for one and only one, pressing that link has taken them to the penical of success adminship. All that is known of those who reach this lofty status is: "they rule"! So it is said. But, dear reader, there are other whispers less lofty.

In short, "this link goes nowhere" could be a lie, and should read "this link goes anywhere."

Bob, that was wonderful.
Now, if you tell anyone I paid you a complement, I'll deny it...

Thanks Becky. What's the catch? I know there must be a catch somewhere. Do I have to swear to give up my hatred for cats? or my membership in the pig society--maleness?

What's the catch? Gotta know. It's driving me...

click, oh my god! click click click.

Lol, you guys are hilarious! Yeah, I was one of those people who had clicked on the link, and it's quite a joke! lol Like you little blurb about "this link goes anywhere"1

I too enjoyed Bob's little foray into fantasy writing.

Actually, I reckon Admin is collecting the names of we (including myself) who have visited that page... One day soon, our names will appear with the other stats as users with Christie McCauliff Syndrome; there's a Challenger for you all...

My boss/work mate says if he's ever on life support, I am not allowed to visit him, because of my enquiring fingers...LOL

Post 18 by blbobby (Ooo you're gona like this!) on Tuesday, 16-Jan-2007 16:12:19

BaritoneAu, that was halareous. Christie McCauliff syndrome? I know who she is (and your right it's quite a challenge), but what's the syndrome?

J is a major loser with no imagination or something. As for dan I wouldn't worry he'll still be cl. J never looks at these boards, so no worries really. I could also say how he likes to sleep with monkeys and cows, and he'll still not respond. :D

Lol Damia, very true!

Post 21 by Raskolnikov (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Wednesday, 17-Jan-2007 16:11:24

I was thinking that the link automatically set off an invisible flash from a camera and secretly took the picture of each user. But yesterday I found out the truth. All your theories are wrong. I was taken to a page that contained all your passwords, so now I'm gonna make use of all your personal information. lol

Post 22 by Blue Velvet (I've got the platinum golden silver bronze poster award.) on Wednesday, 17-Jan-2007 17:41:04

Yes, but those of the rest of us who also clicked on that link now have your password as well. hahahahaha I also have your social security number and credit card numbers and am shopping online right now with your cards.

Post 23 by BaritoneAu (Regular Zoner) on Thursday, 18-Jan-2007 0:06:30

Bob,

The joke at that the time of that particular tragedy was:
Q: What were Christie McCauliff's last words?
A: What does this button do.....Boom!

Accordingly, the syndrome is a proclivity to press every button and twist every knob; very common among we blindies...
